A pioneer of Chicago Hip-Hop, D.A. SMART made history with his 1997 anthem “Walk With Me”, a song that painted a raw and unfiltered picture of Chicago’s streets, repping every side of the city. Raised in Robert Taylor Homes and Altgeld Gardens, D.A. SMART started as a breakdancer before making his mark as one of the most lyrically respected emcees to ever come out of the city.

His ability to tell real stories with vivid lyricism and authenticity cemented his status as a true OG of Hip-Hop. Now, he’s sitting down with Urban Grind TV to talk about his journey, impact, and what’s next.
