Based in the Chicago area, our platform has featured and worked with icons such as Snoop Dogg, Lil Durk, J. Cole, Ludacris, Rick Ross, and many more — while serving as a launchpad for new creative professionals nationwide.
Now entering its 31st season, Urban Grind TV continues to set the standard for independent broadcasting with original programming airing on Comcast & Astound TV (Channel 25 – Chicago) and streaming globally via Roku TV, Apple TV, Amazon FireTV, YouTube (@UrbanGrindTV), and Logik Radio.
We’re proud to introduce our newest flagship production — Legends in Session with 4× NBA Champion Horace Grant, a high-profile sports, culture, and entertainment television series produced by Urban Grind TV. Interns selected for this program will gain first-hand experience contributing to this major new production, alongside our nationally syndicated Urban Grind Radio Show and weekly Urban Grind TV tapings filmed in Forest Park, IL.
🎓 About the Program
Urban Grind TV’s Media Internship Program is built for driven, creative, and career-focused students pursuing degrees in Media, Broadcasting, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Audio Engineering, or Film Production.
Interns receive hands-on training and direct mentorship from award-winning producers, directors, and media executives. You’ll learn every phase of real broadcast television and radio production — from set design and live audio engineering to editing, marketing, and post-production delivery — working side-by-side with professionals who produce nationally recognized content every week.
This is not a classroom simulation — it’s a real-world industry experience with one of the Midwest’s longest-running independent media brands. You’ll gain published broadcast credits, build a professional portfolio, and expand your creative network across music, sports, and entertainment.
For outstanding candidates, Urban Grind TV may extend paid contracts or permanent production roles upon successful completion of the program.
Selected interns will begin immediately and work directly with producers, directors, and creative teams responsible for content seen on major TV and streaming platforms.

📍 Internship Details
Location: Forest Park, IL (Chicago Area)
Commitment: 30 Days Total / 2 Days Per Week / 8 Hours Per Week
Tuesdays 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Wednesdays 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Hybrid Option: Some tasks (social media, editing, and content creation) may be completed remotely.

📹 Media Production Intern
Assist with video and audio production, including filming, editing, lighting, and sound design for Urban Grind TV & Urban Grind Radio.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Set up and break down camera, lighting, and audio equipment
✅ Record in-studio and on-location content
✅ Operate cameras, microphones, and lighting setups
✅ Edit raw footage using Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve
✅ Organize and maintain digital assets
✅ Assist in live broadcasts and streaming setups
✅ Follow UGTV branding when editing videos
✅ Upload final edits to UGTV platforms
🎤 Broadcast & Journalism Intern
Focus on writing, interviewing, and reporting for Urban Grind TV, conducting research, and preparing scripts.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Research guests and industry topics
✅ Write scripts, news segments, and interview questions
✅ Conduct on-camera and voice-over interviews
✅ Prepare press releases and media reports
✅ Collaborate with producers to develop engaging content
✅ Transcribe and archive recorded interviews
📲 Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern
Manage Urban Grind TV’s online presence, create engaging content, run campaigns, and interact with followers.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Develop weekly content calendars
✅ Create posts, reels, and stories for major platforms
✅ Track analytics and trends
✅ Engage with followers and manage community interactions
✅ Assist in paid campaigns and influencer collaborations
✅ Maintain Urban Grind TV brand voice and visual standards
🎨 Graphic Design & Video Editing Intern
Design visual content for UGTV’s website, social media, and promotional campaigns.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Create eye-catching graphics, banners, and visuals
✅ Edit videos and motion graphics for social media and broadcast
✅ Design thumbnails, flyers, and promotional materials
✅ Maintain brand consistency across all visuals
✅ Collaborate on creative campaigns
✅ Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Canva
🎧 Audio Engineer Internship — Urban Grind TV, Urban Grind Radio & Legends in Session with Horace Grant
The Audio Engineer Intern will work hands-on in studio and post-production for Urban Grind TV, our nationally syndicated Urban Grind Radio show, and the new flagship series Legends in Session with 4× NBA Champion Horace Grant, filmed at our Forest Park, IL studios.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Operate studio boards, microphones, and interfaces during live and pre-recorded sessions
✅ Capture clean, professional-quality sound for TV interviews, radio segments, and live performances
✅ Mix and master sessions for Urban Grind Radio, Urban Grind TV, and Legends in Session
✅ Collaborate with producers, editors, and hosts to ensure broadcast-ready sound
✅ Manage and archive session files
✅ Learn compression, EQ, and mastering for broadcast standards
Preferred Skills:
✅ Experience with Pro Tools, Logic, or Adobe Audition
✅ Knowledge of gain staging, signal flow, and mic placement
✅ Strong attention to detail and adaptability in a live production setting
✅ Interest in music, TV, radio, and sports-entertainment production

🎧 Music & Artist Management Intern
Assist in managing relationships with artists, handling bookings, promotions, and talent development.
Responsibilities & SOP:

✅ Assist in booking interviews and performances
✅ Coordinate studio sessions and media appearances
✅ Maintain artist press kits and EPKs
✅ Support promotional campaigns and music distribution
✅ Work with radio and streaming partners to expand exposure
📅 Event Production & Coordination Intern
Assist in planning and executing events, concerts, and showcases.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Scout venues and manage event logistics
✅ Coordinate performances, interviews, and panels
✅ Handle event promotion and ticketing
✅ Support setup, guest management, and breakdown
✅ Collaborate with sponsors, vendors, and media teams
✅ Document events through photography and videography
💼 Business Development & Sponsorship Intern
Help grow Urban Grind TV’s brand partnerships and sponsorship revenue.
Responsibilities & SOP:
✅ Research potential sponsors and collaborators
✅ Develop partnership proposals and pitch materials
✅ Support negotiation and deal execution
✅ Track contracts, leads, and revenue opportunities
✅ Assist in monetization and brand integration strategies
