Wally Lockard III, J.D. is the Executive Producer, Director, and Co-Host of Legends in Session with Horace Grant, an original television series hosted by four-time NBA champion Horace Grant and produced by Urban Grind TV. Known as “Mr. Music, TV & Sports,” the Chicago-born media entrepreneur brings more than 24 years of experience in music, television, production, and entertainment business to the series.

For its first season, Wally directed and co-hosted interviews with Phil Jackson, Charles Oakley, Toni Kukoč, Stacey King, Vernon Maxwell, Kendall Gill, Robert Horry, Bill Cartwright, Harvey Grant, Ron Kittle, and José Rijo. Alongside Horace Grant, he guides conversations that explore the people, rivalries, decisions, and experiences behind championship careers—and the lives those athletes and coaches built beyond the game.

Wally founded Urban Grind TV on June 25, 2009, and built it into the Midwest’s longest-running hip-hop television show. Now in its 33rd season, the 30-time award-winning platform has produced more than 800 one-hour episodes over 17 years on television. That sustained production record is the foundation of his expansion into original sports programming.

Urban Grind TV airs weekly on Comcast and Astound TV Channel 25 in Chicago and streams on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube, and UrbanGrindTV.com. Together with Urban Grind Radio, the brand has created a lasting home for interviews, performances, and original programming connecting independent talent with established voices in music, sports, and culture.

As Co-Founder of Urban Grind Management, Wally works across talent development, media strategy, production, and partnerships. His experience reaches from the first concept to the finished program: building teams, directing productions, hosting interviews, and developing opportunities for the people and brands he represents.

His career began after serious injuries during his U.S. Army service brought him home to Chicago. Wally built his first recording studio and independent record label, laying the groundwork for the television and media business that followed. He later earned his law degree, bringing an understanding of business and intellectual property to his work as a producer and entrepreneur.

A member of the Recording Academy and the Latin Recording Academy, Wally is the author of Music Is My Business: The Ultimate Startup Guide to the Music Industry and The Empire Equation. His recognitions include the Cultural Impact Award, the Chi-Town Legends Award, and multiple Chicago Music Awards. He also founded the Youth Cultivation Coalition and has helped create opportunities for hundreds of artists, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

Wally’s work connects independent ownership, consistent production, and an interviewer’s ability to earn trust. From Chicago hip-hop to championship sports, he has built platforms where the people who shaped the culture can tell their own stories.
