We operate across television, radio, streaming, digital media, event production, and artist management. Our programming airs on Comcast & Astound TV (Chicago), Roku TV, Apple TV, Amazon FireTV, YouTube (@UrbanGrindTV), and Logik Radio.

Our internship program provides hands-on experience in broadcasting, content creation, marketing, production, social media, and event coordination, making it the perfect opportunity for students pursuing careers in media, entertainment, and communications.

Internship Overview

Urban Grind TV is seeking passionate, creative, and motivated interns to join our team. This internship is designed to provide students with real-world experience in media production, journalism, digital marketing, business, and entertainment.

Interns will gain direct exposure to the industry, work on live projects, and build professional connections while enhancing their portfolios and resumes.

Internship Details

📍 Location: Chicago Area, IL
⏳ Commitment: 14 Days Total / 1 Day Per Week / 4.5 hours per week
🖥 Hybrid Option: Some internship tasks (social media, editing, and content creation) can be done remotely.

📹 Media Production Intern

Description

The Media Production Intern will assist with video and audio production, including filming, editing, lighting, and sound design for Urban Grind TV & Urban Grind Radio.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Assist with setting up and breaking down camera, lighting, and audio equipment
✅ Record in-studio and on-location video content for TV & social media
✅ Operate cameras, microphones, and lighting setups to ensure high-quality footage
✅ Edit raw footage into polished content using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
✅ Organize and maintain digital media assets for efficient access
✅ Assist in live broadcasts and streaming setups
✅ Follow Urban Grind TV branding when editing videos
✅ Export and upload final video edits to Urban Grind TV’s digital platforms

🎤 Broadcast & Journalism Intern

Description

The Broadcast & Journalism Intern will focus on writing, interviewing, and reporting for Urban Grind TV, conducting research, and preparing scripts.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Research guests, artists, and industry topics for upcoming TV & radio episodes
✅ Assist in writing scripts, news segments, and interview questions
✅ Conduct on-camera and voice-over interviews with artists and industry professionals
✅ Prepare press releases, blog posts, and media reports
✅ Ensure content aligns with Urban Grind TV’s mission and branding
✅ Collaborate with producers to develop engaging broadcast content
✅ Assist in transcribing and archiving recorded interviews

📲 Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern

Description

The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern will manage Urban Grind TV’s online presence, creating engaging content, running campaigns, and interacting with followers.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Develop weekly social media content calendars
✅ Create engaging posts, reels, and stories for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok
✅ Monitor trends in digital marketing & social media to enhance engagement
✅ Respond to comments and messages on Urban Grind TV platforms
✅ Track analytics and performance metrics to optimize content
✅ Assist in paid advertising campaigns and influencer collaborations
✅ Ensure all posts follow Urban Grind TV’s branding guidelines

🎨 Graphic Design & Video Editing Intern

Description

The Graphic Design & Video Editing Intern will design visual content for Urban Grind TV’s website, social media, and promotional materials.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Create eye-catching graphics, banners, and promotional visuals
✅ Edit videos, motion graphics, and GIFs for social media and TV content
✅ Design thumbnails, flyers, and event materials for Urban Grind TV
✅ Maintain brand consistency across all visuals
✅ Work with producers and social media teams to develop engaging campaigns
✅ Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Canva

🎧 Music & Artist Management Intern

Description

The Music & Artist Management Intern will assist in managing relationships with artists, helping with bookings, promotions, and talent scouting.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Research and identify up-and-coming artists for Urban Grind TV
✅ Assist in booking interviews and performances
✅ Coordinate studio sessions, video shoots, and promotional events
✅ Maintain artist press kits and bios
✅ Help with playlist pitching and distribution strategies
✅ Work with radio and streaming platforms to promote artists

📅 Event Production & Coordination Intern

Description

The Event Production Intern will assist in planning, organizing, and executing events, including concerts, showcases, and networking mixers.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Assist in venue scouting, booking, and logistics
✅ Help coordinate live performances, interviews, and panels
✅ Manage event promotion and ticketing strategies
✅ Support event setup, check-in, and breakdown
✅ Coordinate sponsors, vendors, and media personnel
✅ Work with photographers and videographers to document events

💼 Business Development & Sponsorship Intern

Description

The Business Development & Sponsorship Intern will focus on generating revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, and business strategies.

Responsibilities & SOP

✅ Identify and reach out to potential sponsors and brand partners
✅ Assist in creating sponsorship proposals and presentations
✅ Help negotiate sponsorship deals and advertising packages
✅ Track leads, contracts, and partnerships
✅ Develop strategies to expand Urban Grind TV’s business footprint
✅ Assist in monetization opportunities for content and events

Internship Responsibilities

✅ Assist with filming, editing, and producing content for Urban Grind TV & Urban Grind Radio
✅ Conduct interviews and research for upcoming TV & radio segments
✅ Create and post social media content, promotional graphics, and marketing campaigns
✅ Support event planning, coordination, and artist/talent relations
✅ Help with content scheduling, podcast production, and digital distribution
✅ Engage with audiences through Urban Grind TV’s official social media channels
✅ Network with music artists, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals
✅ Work closely with the Executive Producer, marketing team, and media crew
