Chicago talent Treasur’ (born Treasur’ Necole Wright) was raised in music with both her parents being heavily involved in the church. Her father being a pastor and mother leading praise and worship presented Treasur’ a foundation for development of her creativity and talent.
Following in her families’ footsteps, Treasur’ embraced her artistry and became the head of the music ministry, played the drums, and performed spoken word pieces. With most of her early years being Gospel based, Treasur’ had assistance from industry professionals that were a part of artists such as R. Kelly and Mariah Carey’s development along with vocal training from gospel stars and coaches. This eventually led to her singing in the contemporary gospel group known as the SOUL CHILDREN of CHICAGO, where she first had an opportunity to perform overseas. As she began to venture outside of the church, Treasur’ found herself in the lane of Broadway where she performed in the hit play “BIG”. Training her performance skills to that degree would come in handy in high school where she sang with an elite group of singers called the Madrigals that incorporated dramatic scenes and theater in their shows. Branching even further outside of her more contemporary norm, Treasur’ released a hard copy mixtape entitled “X Marks The Spot” which she sold out of her high school locker for $5, solely for a budget for more studio time. Needless to say, selling out of the issued copies would shape the confidence she had in her sultry but subtle approach to R&B and Hip-Hop. After high school Treasur’ enrolled in Columbia College of Chicago where she majored in Vocal Performance. While she attended only for a short time, there she was introduced to the theory of music. This sharpened her skills in percussion and training of the ear, but also allowed her to begin to get her feet wet with the piano and acoustic guitar. Shortly following Columbia, Treasur’ signed to an independent label by the name of PhenominalENT where she then recorded her 1st project to be available across all platforms entitled “X-Files” with the production of Chicago veterans GetEMLouie (“G Herbo; Lil’ Reese; 147 Calboy) and Grammy-nominated producer C-Sick (“Tory Lanez; Future; Meek Mill) who produced her first single off the project entitled “OYS”. “OYS” landed her first placement on her city’s airwaves. This was quickly followed by collaborations with label mates, where visuals were very well received on WSHH and YouTube alike. In this time she also opened up for acts such as Ty Dolla Sign and Shawnna. Come 2017 Treasur’ found herself back in an independent situation where she entered various voice competitions (“The Voice”; “American Idol”; “X Factor). More seasoned and focused, she began branding across social media while still putting a stamp on her sound. The hashtag #BEAGEM was born and became the official name of her fan club. Through Twitter, Treasur’ linked with Billboard Top 10 producer D Moet (Nas “Hate Me Now”). Ever the entrepreneur, Treasur’ was able to throw an independent showcase where she raised money to fly out to New York City to cut 10 records with the legend. That lead to her single “Can We”, which reminded fans of her warm tone and fresh look. Stepping into full-time artistry, Treasur’ released a project with Houston native Sunny Dee entitled “Cut The Distance”, followed by then being crowned Top 5 in the World at the Coast 2 Coast Live national competition after winning 1 st place in her regional contest known for her energy packed performances. Leading to the present, Treasur’ has released singles with her signature sound entitled “Last Call” and “Addiction” and participated in a local high school tour. On Thanksgiving of 2019 Treasur’ released a project entitled “Smoke & Mirrors” that she made into an R&B Film on her YouTube channel. Following the holiday drop theme, on Valentines’ Day of 2020 she released a 2-song mixtape produced by 2 Slick Beatz (Spenzo) entitled “Purple Pain” where she paid homage to the R&B influencers before her, which is available now on Soundcloud.
