Canyon is about depth. His lyrics embody his journey. “When you share tracks with legendary MCs that happen to be your idols as well, you have to be ready for the pressure that creates.” Canyon’s newest release withstand that pressure and delivers a project worthy of your time.

Canyon is from Long Island, New York and has been rapping since he was 11 years old. After recording in high school and signing a small record deal with a local label, Canyon put his rap career on pause to attend college.

With the belief that he had a special talent and a love of music, Canyon was determined to not only get back into music, but to launch a career to rival his idols. To do so, he worked for over 5 years in various sales roles, never losing sight of his ultimate goal, saving up money and fine-tuning his rap skills while he waited.

When the pandemic lockdowns started, Canyon saw it as his time to go for it. He wrote dozens and dozens of songs and networked within the rap community. At the end of 2020, he quit his job, applied and got into USC business school, and then recorded non-stop, working with some of his childhood heroes.

Having connected with Raekwon’s brother, Don, Canyon collaborated with both Raekwon and Jadakiss for his first two songs “Shark Tank” and “Reservations,” respectively. “Shark Tank” has over 800,000 plays on SoundCloud, where it charted in the top 10 of New & Hot Releases. “Reservations” has had over 100,000 plays within the first week of being released.

“Kids got talent,” Raekwon said to This is 50, “I was happy to be chosen to rock with him early on, look out for him!”
